NURTURE THE BORDERS

Nurture the Borders offered me all the support I needed before and after delivering my daughter.
The feeling of loneliness for not knowing anyone in the area (I moved to the Borders 6 months before giving birth) was just too much for me at that time, combined with a lot of worries for becoming a new parent. By having a meet up with my befriender on a weekly basis, I felt my new routine was established and the feeling of isolation was reduced (plus, through the mums space, I discovered a mum with a baby girl of my daughter's age who lived just down the road from my house and we started going out together until she moved away).
Moreover, because I was relying on public transport, meeting the befriender at home was a great help.
Finally, my mum befriender, Julie and Rosie were all such great people who gave me the emotional support I desperately needed! I could talk about absolutely anything without feeling judged. I think without their support, I wouldn't have been able to get where I am today.
