Nurture the Borders is committed to supporting parents experiencing perinatal and infant mental health challenges. We provide holistic parent and family centred support through a broad range of specialised services tailored to the unique needs of parents during this critical period.

We have carefully developed our services over the past 9 years. During this time we have taken a collaborative, responsive, evidence and evaluation based approach which has (with the help of our wonderful funders and supporters) enabled us to develop a unique and effective support pathway for families which harnesses the power of lived experience alongside  the best evidence based interventions.

Referral Criteria

All our services are free and available to parents who meet the following criteria:

Referral Criteria

They are a parent (mum or dad) who are either expecting a baby or have a little one under the age of two.

They are experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges or are at risk of developing mental health problems due to their history or situation. (Please note we are often able to support parent who are experiencing more severe problems, so long as they are engaging with statutory services - please call us to discuss)

They live within the Scottish Borders.

The parent is aware of, and has consented to the referral.
